Marine Patrol


The Marine Patrol is available to help make your boating season a safe and enjoyable one. 

The Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol consists of twelve (12) specially trained deputies that patrol the waters of Lake Erie adjacent to Lake County.

They perform vessel inspections, assist the U.S. Coast Guard, observe and cite boating violations, manage boat traffic for special events including fireworks and boat races.

The 27 foot Boston Whaler is also used as a platform for the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team. The outstanding 10 member dive team are trained in rescue and recovery, including rapid water and under ice rescue. Several members are U.S. Navy trained divers.
